When speaking about the Middle East it is possible to imagine not the hot climate but the fresh air. Leaders of the capital city of the United Arab Emirates Abu Dhabi planned to develop the world’s first carbon free city within next 10 years. This city will be a green example in which the emission of harmful gases will be maximized and the fuel consumption will be minimized. As the architects and designers say, for provision of electricity to the city, it will be used alternative and renewable energy resources of the different types, among them – solar and wind.

The architects decided to distribute the technologies worked with the solar energy, including accumulating devices, which direct the energy accumulated via mirrors to the central tower. The tower sends the 1-meter thick light ray to the different generators to produce the electricity. This ecologically clean city has already been named as “Masdari”. When Masdari light emission diode illuminating tower shines in blue, it means that all the energy resources are working properly. If it shines in red – the generated energy is insufficient for the city. Both large buildings and skyscrapers will be forbidden in Masdari, as well as car moving in. It will be possible to move within the city territory only on foot and by the underground transport.

Masdari not a distant dream - a part of works has already begun. Construction investment volume is up to 30 billion dollars, and the caliph of Abu Dhabi - Bin Sayed Al Naian, sponsors the project.
